2-tone giants The Selecter announce a concert at The Globe as part of their 35th Anniversary Tour, where they will be playing Too Much Pressure in its entirety!

Pioneers of the ska revival alongside labelmates The Specials and Madness, The Selecter are responsible for some of the scene’s classic hits, including On My Radio and Missing Words amongst many others.

Their iconic front-woman Pauline Black is often referred to as ‘The Queen of Ska’, and with good reason – Rolling Stone declared, “Hands down, Pauline Black possessed the best voice that ever graced a 2-tone release”. Alongside others, Gwen Stefani has cited her as one of her formative influences.

After two disbandment and two subsequent reformations, The Selecter have been treating their huge fan base to hits past and present in live tours since 2010.

2012 saw them showcasing their most recent album Made In Britain, a release which in many ways parallels the condemnation of racial divides and the advocation of multiculturalism that Too Much Pressure communicated 33 years ago.

Still as firm on socio-political issues as ever, and still filled with the same musical energy and exuberance as they were in 1980, The Selecter return to The Globe in Cardiff to do what they do best!
