Jah Wobble has gained acclaim as a bass guitarist, singer, poet and composer. Wobble was an integral member of the nascent Public Image Limited but he left the band after two albums (including the mesmeric Metal Box recording). Since those yesteryear’s of the late 70’s and early 80’s Wobble has liaised with a range of musicians and excelled in a series of aural genres. In 2009, he published his autobiography, Memoirs of a Geezer is an essential document charting the ups and downs of one of our most treasured performing artists. In 2011 The bass baron linked up with Julie Campbell (a.k.a. Lone Lady) for the spellbinding Psychic Life recording and that reocrd which also featured former PIL cohort Keith Levene. In 2012, Wobble reunited with Levene for Metal Box In Dub live dates and the breathtaking album Yin & Yang. Wobble shoes the diversity of his various sonic dalliances on his current career defining Redux (Anthology 1978-2015) set.
Wobble has also worked with members of Can, Brian Eno, The Edge, The Orb, Primal Scream, Sinead O’ Connor, Dolores O’ Riordan, Massive Attack, Bill Laswell, Bjork and countless others in a career that has never been stagnant. From post punk to global rhythms Wobble is always pushing the envelope!
