Tony Smith who was born in Eastbourne, Sussex but has lived in Tonypandy for 40 years. Tony has been a well known local car mechanic but at the same time, he has developed a long-term love of photography. About five years ago Tony became interested in Urban Xploring and he travelled around the country visiting abandoned houses, factories, churches and other buildings. The Rhondda resident also got interested in taking night photos as well as shots of his beloved automobiles. The obvious skills developed as Tony joined the Phoenix Ffhoto Group – and, as a race car and bike official he gets access to privileged places that enhance his collection and that has also resulted in action shots of musicians.
Tony currently has an exhibition on at Tonypandy Library (01443 432251) until December 6th; and prints can be bought at the end of the exhibition. Please make a contact for prices on 07787 398614 or email: cunningplan@btinternet.com
