Lynne Rees-Tippett was born in Tonypandy and went to the Grammar School where she became greatly influenced by two of her English teachers. She wrote poetry and short stories from her early teens and had some work published in the Rhondda Leader and other magazines. A move to Pontllanfraith in 1995 took place and early retirement from work followed in 2000. Lynne became a Magistrate for the Gwent Bench and also a student at the outreach programme of Newport University where she learned her trade as a writer. As a result, a first novel entitled Orchid of Death was published in August 2017 and a visit to promote the book at Tonypandy Library was a success.
