Tonypandy PCSO Sarah Phelps is a proud mum to Thomas who is 7 years old and has Autism. Thomas loves reading and Sarah has responded with a series of stories to entertain and assist her son. ‘The Adventures of Thomas and Blanket’ was written, illustrated and self published by Sarah through Amazon and has gone on to sell over 100 copies.

Sarah has gone on to complete another three books through Amazon i.e. ‘Have you Heard of the Bossy Little Ladybird’, ‘Mr Squibs who liked to tell Fibs’ and ‘Frog on a Log’. All these stories have been inspired by things Thomas has said or things that he likes. Sarah, works full time for the constabulary but she has also been visited local World of Words (WOW) schools in order to read her books to children and talk to them about writing and also explaining a little about Autism.

Sarah also won the Nation Radio Mum of the year award last year because of her stories and she also had the opportunity to attend the Anna Kennedy Autism Hero Awards in London last November. A new book ‘A
‘Spec’tacular Adventure’ is on the way and judging by the reaction at local schools Sarah is set to have another hit.
