The Psychedelic Furs are an English act founded in February 1977. Led by singer Richard Butler and his brother Tim Butler on bass guitar, the Psychedelic Furs are one of the many acts spawned from the British post-punk scene. To the majority the group will be primarily known for the Pretty in Pink chart hit but there is so much more to this band and a succession of singles and albums between their formation and their hiatus in 1991 were simply stand alone art-rock beacons.

The Butler brothers formed Love Spit Love in’91 but The Psychedelic Furs regrouped in 2001 and continue to perform around the world. Yours truly was fortunate to catch the Furs in Cardiff action on two occasions in the 80’s and it is a pleasure to declare that many years on the Butlers and their buoyant band are set for The Tramshed, Cardiff on Wednesday, June 13 at 7.30pm.
