A little over four years ago a group of altruistic community led folk re-opened Llwynypia Boys & Girls Club (CF40 2EL : just off Llwynypia Road, near the NUM Club and Home Bargains on the way in to Tonypandy). The club is currently open two evenings a week and to extend the schedule there is a need for volunteers to support youngsters in the region. There are no particular skills needed, and the club would cover the cost for D.B.S. cover.
The base is also looking to rent out rooms to help cover the running costs. The building is spread over three floors including: A sports hall, games area and a function room with a kitchen. The premises also has central heating, wi-fi and office space. The Boys & Girls club aims to become a community centre throughout the day and offer various projects and activities as well as undertake a regular evening programme.
