Wonky lurcher pup Kevin needs £5000 surgery to help him walk
Kevin the lurcher pup was handed in to Hope Rescue this December, having been given away several times because he cannot walk and requires expensive treatment.
This friendly boy will need specialist surgery to fix his deformed joints and allow him to walk and run like a normal puppy. The results of his initial consultation, suggest that Kevin has congenital issues with the joints in his front legs which have been present since birth.
Last week he underwent testing and x-rays with vets at Maes Glas in Brackla which show that his ulna bones are shorter than his radius bones in both of his front legs. As you can see from the x-ray images, the deformities with Kevin’s bones mean he is struggling to straighten his lower leg joints.
Could you help us with a donation to help towards the costs? His full treatment and recovery plan is likely to cost up to £5000. On top of which, the rescue kennels are full to bursting with unclaimed stray and abandoned dogs.
We think Kevin deserves the chance to access the best treatment and restore the use of his front legs before he does some permanent damage. Could you help us with a donation towards Kevin’s treatment and to help us to care for the other 71 dogs that are currently at Hope Rescue?
This winter we are expecting over 150 dogs to need our help, your gift means that there will be a cosy kennel waiting for each one of them. Thank you
The Charity are asking donors to make a gift on their website at www.hoperescue.org.uk, over the phone on 01443 226 659 or by post at Hope Rescue, Cynllan Lodge, Old Llanharry Road, Llanharan CF72 9NH. Every penny raised will bring us one step closer to giving Kevin a chance at a full life.
