Former head teacher, writer and historian Phil Rowlands brought his expertise along to World of Words (WOW) i.e. www.worldofwords.education. Phil spoke on the history of The Mid Rhondda Ground, Tonypandy and also of plans for its future.
WOW organised this event and it was so pleasing to get so many children involved in an afternoon of learning about a prized green space with an incredible history and hopefully a new future within its community. Phil shared in both his astute knowledge and immense research of The Mid and other major events in the history of the Rhondda Valleys.
It is many thanks to Phil and the children will follow up with their own ideas of what they would like on the prized green Tonypandy site.
The Friends of The Mid group are pressing to utilise the space as a community facility.
