A Pontyclun family firm is celebrating the launch of three of their popular vegan meal pot products in Tesco stores across Wales.
SamosaCo have been making and selling fresh samosas and other traditional Indian dishes for four decades, and have seen their business grow in that time from a single shop in Cardiff to a purpose-built factory and a successful website.
A new listing with Tesco now means that shoppers across Wales can get their hands on three spicy 350g vegan and gluten-free meal pot varieties in store; Spinach and Chickpea with Sweet Potato Curry, Tarka Daal and Punjabi Chickpea Curry.
All three dishes are chilled, but are suitable for home freezing, and can be cooked in the microwave for a speedy lunch or side dish.
All SamosaCo products are 100% natural, with the firm’s ‘no added anything’ philosophy meaning they steer clear of any artificial preservatives, colourings, flavours, MSG and GM products, and also palm oil.
Tee Sandhu, co-founder of SamosaCo, said: “We’re really happy to be able to bring our vegan meal pots to a new audience at Tesco, and share with a wider audience the results of our secret family recipe which has been delighting our customers for 40 years. We use high-quality ingredients to achieve an authentic homemade taste, and we hope Tesco customers love them as much as we do.”
Nathan Edwards, Local Buyer for Wales at Tesco, said: “SamosaCo are a great family firm, and their products are delicious. We know there is a tremendous and increasing appetite amongst our customers for tasty vegan and plant-based options, so they will be a great addition to our range in store.”
