The Queen’s Baton Relay came to King George’s Running Track, Tonypandy. It was a busy gathering as local children were involved in an array of sporting activities and a large crowd united to view the spectacle of this unique item that is a figurehead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Our very own Paralympian great Rhys Jones was in attendance and it was a pleasure to have a chat with this sporting legend and genuine nice guy. Rhys has a busy schedule getting ready for the big sporting event set for Birmingham and he is also visiting World of Words schools to share his story with the children. He is attending the schools of Cwmclydach Primary and Ton Pentre Juniors the and www.worldofwords.educationis ever so grateful.
