The community will be able to reach speeds up to 900Mb, on Grain’s own fibre optic network, with a dedicated fibre cable direct to each home or business.
This technology means the service is much faster than traditional copper networks which only take fibre to the cabinet, relying on customers sharing speeds with their neighbours. By installing a new and dedicated network, residents are being offered a wider choice than just the traditional Openreach network.
Tonypandy is one of the key expansion areas to benefit, with work to install the network now underway. The works in Tonypandy add to the works already underway in Newport, where thousands of homes are being connected to Grains network.
Residents in Tonypandy can currently sign up in November for as little as £17.99 per month. Grain pledge to never increase a customer’s price during their contract term, going against the standard practice of many competitors who increase prices annually in line with inflation.
Other benefits include a free router, free installation, no line rental costs, no post and packaging costs, and no set up or admin fees. In addition to this, Grain believes in fair and transparent pricing, allowing customers to renew for the same monthly price being offered to new customers on their street.
Roland Barzegar, Chief Finance Officer at Grain said: “This £200m investment is a huge vote of confidence for our regional roll-out phases across the UK, and we can’t wait to bring super-fast, reliable, and affordable broadband packages to local communities including Tonypandy. We pride ourselves on great pricing, fair contract terms and a reliable service.
“Our Loyalty Price Promise allows customers to renew on the same monthly price we advertise to new customers on their street, so you will always have access to great pricing and your loyalty won’t be exploited. This is especially important to us now, with customers being impacted by the rising cost of living.”
