DVLA ANNOUNCES CANCER RESEARCH UK AS THEIR CHARITY OF CHOICE FOR 2023

• DVLA has announced that Cancer Research UK will be its Charity of Choice for 2023.
• Cancer Research UK’s pioneering work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has helped save millions of lives.
• Over the last eight years, DVLA staff have raised £357,000 for their Charities of Choice.

DVLA has announced Cancer Research UK as its Charity of Choice for 2023.

Cancer Research UK relies on public donations to fund their exceptional research into the treatment and cure of over 200 different types of cancer. The money raised this year by DVLA staff will support their work in researching new technologies and running life-saving cancer research projects.

The DVLA Charity of Choice campaign is a charitable giving approach, where the winning charity is voted for by staff at both the Swansea and Birmingham DVLA sites. Over the last eight years, staff have raised £357,000 for their chosen charities.

This year, DVLA staff voted for Cancer Research UK as its Charity of Choice and will be taking part in numerous fundraising activities and events in their own time this year.

Cancer Research UK’s Relationship Manager in Wales, Sophie Busson, said:

“We’re so pleased to have been chosen as DVLA’s Charity of Choice for 2023 and I’m excited to see the impact they will make on our life-saving research.

“One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives*, but the good news is more people are now surviving the disease than ever before. Cancer survival in the UK has doubled since the early 1970s and Cancer Research UK’s work has been at the heart of that progress. However, this is only possible with the dedication and commitment of volunteers and supporters like DVLA.”
