Having released their new album Stiff to critical acclaim last week (which currently sits at number 16 in the UK official midweek chart), WHITE DENIM have today shared the video for their tremendously fun and incessantly catchy single ‘Ha Ha Ha Ha (Yeah)’.
As well as full run of UK shows, the band are also announcing their biggest headline show to date on Tuesday 11th October at London’s Roundhouse.
The video comes after the track – along with ‘ Had 2 Know (Personal)‘ and ‘ Holda You (I’m Psycho)‘ – was added to the BBC 6 Music A-list, and epitomises frontman James Petralli‘s vision of a “high heat, high energy, good times record” with a suitably Texan aesthetic and a cowboy who sports all the moves.
“When we initially heard the song, we envisioned a choreographed dance,” says the video’s director, Jonatán López. “Around the same time, we’d been watching deleted scenes from Jackie Chan’s golden era, and somehow those deleted scenes led us to a particular one with John Travolta from Urban Cowboy. We muted the video, played the song, and thought, ‘yeah, this is it.’ Travolta was relentless. He kept trying to nail the dance take after take, and we loved that energy. So we built a video around that moment.”
Stiff is available via the White Denim website here or via iTunes here. Tickets for all shows go on sale 9am Friday 1st April. A pre-sale for all dates will take place 9am Wednesday 30th March here.
