The return of ‘fifteen lions’ to The Globe in Hay-on-Wye on Saturday 31st August gives the local fan-base the first chance to hear new material and the current double a-side release before Stuart Fiddes takes his solo set to the Birmingham O2 Academy in September with a prestigious supporting slot for ‘Richard Strange performs the songs of Lou Reed’.
‘My home town is where it all started for my ‘fifteen lions’ project and I love the buzz of playing The Globe. Come on down!’ The double a-side ‘So serene/Tell The World’ is available now on digital platforms through Maniac Squat Records.
As the cult status of fifteen lions grows, the band’s debut double A-side single is set for release.
fifteen lions emerged as a free-flowing solo project from guitarist and singer/songwriter Stuart Fiddes. Now a developing project in partnership with renowned musicians, Paul Cuddeford (Ian Hunter) and Morgan Fisher (Mott the Hoople, Queen), creating a distinct sound blending post-punk, pop and indie rock.
‘So Serene’ was produced by Paul Cuddeford (Ian Hunter, Steve Harley, Bob Geldof, Lisa Ronson), who also plays bass, additional guitars and percussion.
Stuart is a resident of the creative hotbed of Hay-on-Wye in the Welsh Borders. He has returned to making music after a 20-year hiatus producing engaging songs reflecting personal experience and responses to life.
Stuart says of his music: “I’ve never set out to make a particular style of music or manufacture content. I write about how I feel, and I want songs to grow musically. Music has always been in my life and once again my life is in my music”.
