‘GLOWING IN THE DARK’
AVAILABLE NOW ON BECAUSE MUSIC
Today, DJANGO DJANGO announce a headline tour in October and November, beginning in Belfast October 9th and encompassing dates across the UK and Europe.
The band have built an inimitable live reputation over the years and this will be the first time their lauded new album “Glowing in the Dark” will be played to audiences. Check out all the dates HERE.
Alongside this the band share a video for recent single Waking Up, an album highlight and collaboration with Charlotte Gainsbourg. The band worked with Portland based design studio Mortis again (who directed the Iridescent remix video). Partnering with video artist Swampy, Mortis created a collage of new and archival footage that captures an assortment of vignettes of the American landscape, watch it here.
Exclusively for the tour, the band have made two limited edition 7 inch vinyl for album tracks “Waking Up” and “Kick The Devil Out”, backed on the B sides with new recordings and including hand-designed artwork which folds out into posters. These vinyl will only be available for the first handful of people who have bought tickets to the tour that can enter the competition to win a free copy. More information on the bands socials.
Over the course of their extraordinarily accomplished discography to date, Django Django have constantly headed left where others have gone right. Recently described by The Guardian as “making music that sounds close to perfection” , they are known for their genre defying eclectic sound and their new album “Glowing in the Dark”, heralds, once again, the beginning of a thrilling new era for the band. Universally acclaimed, the album has been praised by the likes of Uncut, Mojo, Loud and Quiet, The Observer, The Independent, Sunday Times Culture, The Arts Desk, NME and many more.
“Glowing In The Dark” is a glorious move forward, infused with the kind of freshness and confidence that comes hand in hand with a newfound optimism. A record about escape but also one full of hope: and that’s the sound of experience, because this is a band who know what it is to exceed even your wildest dreams. We can’t wait to welcome them back to the live stage later this year.
